We will reveal God's healing love
by improving the health of the individuals
and communities we serve -- especially those
who are poor and vulnerable.

Maryann and Jeremy Lumianski have been champion volunteers with Duchesne Clinic for the last 3 ½ years and are recipients of this year’s United Way Volunteer Recognition Award.

On a weekly basis the Lumianskis are faithfully committed to shopping for fresh healthy produce and lean protein for members of the Diabetes Self-Management class and at the same time, watch pennies so they stay within a strict budget. They apportion these items into individual bags and deliver them to the clinic so they can be presented to each class member in an effort to foster their education and management of their diabetes disease.

“We are honored to be a part of the great work that is done at Duchesne and enjoy our grocery shopping job very much,” said Maryann. Jeremy and Maryann’s impeccable reliability, good humor, and attention to detail help make this program a success.

Melinda Krautmann-Borelli, the Diabetes Self-Management Program Coordinator can’t say enough good things about this couple. “Never have I worked with such dedicated volunteers and genuinely good people. And they do it in such a humble way. They are truly a gift and we are grateful for their time, talent and treasures.” We are delighted they were honored for their work at the United Way Volunteer Recognition event hosted by the United Way of Wyandotte County Agency Executives Council on April 11, 2017.
